Women’s Health
Dignity Health East Valley cares for the health of our community, especially those most vulnerable and in need, through inpatient and outpatient services and community outreach focused on women’s health programs:
Dignity Health in the Phoenix East Valley has a proven track record of advancing women’s health through innovative and inclusive care. Guided by our Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA), we identify critical health disparities and shape targeted outreach programs to maximize impact, focusing on women’s health and mental health.
Our Pregnancy & Postpartum Support Group and "Let’s Talk" group therapy provides peer-based support and professional counseling. Participants reported improved emotional adjustment, better navigation of resources, and a strengthened sense of community.
Recognizing gaps in mental health care, in partnership with specialized mental health providers, bedside consultations are provided in Labor & Delivery to schedule follow-up counseling services as needed. Studies show only 20% of women access care after a positive postpartum depression screen without follow-up. We plan to further address this issue by expanding mental health services within outpatient OBGYN and Family Medicine Clinics, ensuring timely support for challenges such as postpartum depression and anxiety.
Through these efforts, Dignity Health East Valley demonstrates its commitment to improving women’s health and mental well-being, achieving lasting, measurable improvements in the lives of those we serve.
